Man is the most favored of all God's creation: We were formed in His image (Genesis 1:26). Because God is one spirit, man was designed to be spiritual. To those of us who have chosen to develop the spiritual area of our souls and acknowledge the Bible as the Word of God, consider His positive plan for marriage:

"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." -Genesis 2:24

"Let marriage be held in honor among all and let the marriage bed be undefiled." -Hebrews 13:4

"Each one of you must love his wife as he loves himself and the wife must respect her husband." -Ephesians 5:33

The institution of marriage is old, but that doesn’t mean that it is obsolete. As believers, cultural norms must be judged by scripture--are we judging scripture by the culture in which we live? Truth is not determined by popularity, but by examining God's word.
