Earn while you learn

The Earn While You Learn (EWYL) program is a parenting education incentive program designed to reward learning, foster responsibility, and nurture relationships with Clients.

Clients earn “Mommy Money” by learning about parenting from reading brochures and books, watching videos and DVDs, and answering questions on a worksheet about what they read or viewed.

Clients may also earn “Mommy Money” by attending FLPC childbirth classes and doctor appointments, arranging for child care, arriving on time for their scheduled EWYL appointment, calling and rescheduling when unable to keep EWYL appointment, and other opportunities previously approved by the Center.

The “Mommy Money” may be exchanged for diapers, baby clothes, maternity clothes, baby furniture, or other baby items. Mommy money is not required to “purchase” formula and/or baby food.

Clients are responsible for maintaining their “Mommy Money”. The Center is not responsible for any lost, misplaced, or stolen “Mommy Money”.

Fathers or Fathers-to-be earn “Daddy Dollars” when they accompany their girlfriend/wife to the Earn While You Learn appointment and watch the same video and complete a separate worksheet.

All Clients may participate in the program regardless of age, race, income, nationality, religious affiliation, disability or other arbitrary circumstances.

The Earn While You Learn program is conducted on Thursdays for English-speaking clients, and Tuesdays for Spanish-speaking clients. “Mommy Money” may be spent Monday through Thursday during regular Center hours, for English-speaking Clients, and Tuesdays only for Spanish-speaking Clients. Clients are advised to make babysitting arrangements for their child(ren), so they can watch video/read booklet without distractions.

Clients are encouraged to schedule EWYL appointments on appropriate days.
